This Scripture is one of the most-spoken verses during the Christmas season. It serves as a constant reminder that God is with us. He is with us in our good and bad times. Jesus is present in our heartaches and celebrations, as well as our challenges and victories. He is Immanuel.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit earlier this year, life as we knew it stopped. But, the ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) wasn’t canceled. It just looked different. Northeast (NE) Florida FCA continued to put our faith into action to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. Even though we scrambled to find innovative ways to minister, we still saw God show up mightily and touch the lives of coaches and athletes. He was with us.
Your generous support makes this ministry happen! Although in-person events fell off our schedules, God was still present in virtual ministry, allowing us to connect through social media, phone calls, Zoom and webinars. We prayed, trained, and connected. As a result, this year, NE Florida FCA engaged, equipped and empowered approximately 2,500 coaches and athletes to know and grow in their relationships with Jesus Christ.
Through God’s presence in the work of our eight staff and more than 150+ volunteers in NE Florida, 2,500 coaches and athletes grew in their understanding of how Jesus Christ relates to their athletic, personal and spiritual lives.
