What an incredible evening at our first Faith and Family Night with the @jaxshrimp! This past Monday, NE Florida FCA was fortunate to be invited to play in and blessed to be a beneficiary of @vestedmetalsinternational First Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The tournament theme was “The Next Generation,” and it brought together more than 90 golfers—raising more than $60,000 for local charities: THE PLAYERS Championship Boys & Girls Club, Flagler College Cares: Emergency Relief Fund, St. John's Housing Partnership, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Flagler Health Care Foundation, and Adaptive Superstars. Viv Helwig, President and Founder of Vested Metals, created the tournament to commemorate John Mark Leach, a colleague and friend who passed away last year. Helwig said, “I knew that I wanted to do something to commemorate his giving spirit and zest for life. We will host this tournament every year with the goal of raising and donating $1 million to local charities over the next ten years. Each month, FCA’s entire Florida region gathers for a day of fasting and prayer. We pray over the ministry and all who are a part of it - from our leaders, staff, coaches and athletes to our board members, donors, volunteers, churches and schools. We are excited to welcome 3 new staff members to the NE Florida FCA team and excited to see all that God is going to do in 2023!

We are so thankful for NE Florida FCA board member and dear friend, Temple Ade, for spearheading the opportunity for NE Florida FCA to support 6 Duval middle schools in need with soccer goals for their programs. Our staff and Temple presented these at the Duval County Middle School Athletic Directors Meeting! The schools included: - Southside - Arlington - Stillwell - Ribault - Dupont - Gilbert

As we observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we want to acknowledge Dr. King, who worked to share and spread love for all people. We are committed as a ministry to honor and further his efforts so that we may see every coach and athlete impacted for the Gospel and celebrate diversity in the sports world. * In honor of Dr. Kings's life and message of hope and justice for all, FCA has created a 5-Day YouVersion plan, Still Pursuing the Dream.
