Dan is originally from Grafton, WI and earned a BA and MA from of the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. He was a high school teacher, coach and athletic director for 12 years in Wisconsin. In 1982, Dan moved to Columbus, Ohio where he did his doctoral studies in athletic administration at The Ohio State University. In 1984, Dan was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations at the Ohio State University. In 1989, he was named Senior Associate director of athletics at the University of Minnesota and would serve as the chairman of the 1992 NCAA Men’s Final Four. In 1994, Dan accepted the position of director of athletics at Western Michigan University.
In 2004, Dan joined the golf staff at the Palencia Club in St. Augustine, FL as Director of Instruction overseeing the Palencia Putting, Short Game, and Golf Psychology Institute. While serving at Palencia he helped direct the FCA Golf Camp and FCA National Scramble. In 2013, Dan moved to Alliance, NE, where he served as the Executive Director of the Teen Challenge Boy’s Ranch.
Dan joined the Northeast Florida FCA staff in 2016, serving as Director of Development. He also enjoys teaching at the Toby Mac FCA Golf Camp in Southern Pines, NC each summer. Dan is committed to serving the Lord through the ministry of sport, coaches, student-athletes, volunteers and donors!
Dan and his wife Kathy live in Jacksonville, FL and have four children and eight grandchildren.
